Big backyard, big plans for it

The last of the squash

My monster zucchini squash finally bit the dust. RIP. Survived vine borers, squash bugs, and a rash of powdery mildew, but the heat this weekend finally took it out.

The heat did, however, kick the okra into highest gear.

(the tire in the background is for the clothesline thingymabob, now that you made me self-conscious about it, thank you)

Birdhouse gourds are doing pretty well, even if they haven’t set as much fruit as I’d like.

The flowers on these things remind me of the softest cotton.

They also remind me of the first time I grew them, way back in Bethel, and the fun we had with that garden.

Have fun out there; just because certain flowers remind you of panties doesn’t make you a pervert.
